Kristin received a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at Friends University. Her undergraduate degree is in Human Services/Sociology, as well as Ceramic Studio Art.
Kristin works with ages 14+ for adult and adolescent therapy. She has experience treating a variety of clinical diagnoses and especially enjoys working with individuals seeking treatment for anxiety, depression, PTSD or trauma symptoms. Kristin focuses on brain and body-based therapy to help you learn about how your emotions, body and brain work so you can begin to heal, and feel unburdened and confident in your life. She is an experiential therapist, who believes we become burdened through the experiences we have in life, and can heal through them as well. With a background in sociology, and as a ceramic artist herself, Kristin brings both a passion for inclusion and creativity to her practice. Kristin seeks to create a trauma-informed, judgment free and safe environment for every person who walks into her office. She believes healing is all at once the most difficult, beautiful, and important thing you can choose to do. Kristin additionally offers EMDR therapy, a powerful tool for treating symptoms related to any form of trauma. Read more about EMDR at: maibergerinstitute.com/what-is-emdr
