Education

Angela is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed and Registered Dietitian. Angela earned her Dietetics and Human Nutrition degree from Kansas State University and her graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling from Emporia State University.

Overview

Angela takes an integrative therapeutic approach with influences from person-centered, existential, and post-modern perspectives. She emphasizes empowerment and strengths, the client-clinician partnership, social justice, and finding a purposeful way to move through life. She utilizes techniques from a range of modalities, including but not limited to CBT, DBT, mindfulness, narrative therapy, and parts work. If you've ever felt like you’ve spent a lot of your life putting aside taking care of yourself, or if you’ve ever felt like you have to minimize yourself, whether physically or emotionally, or if you're grappling with questions about your purpose in life, Angela would be honored to take that step towards healing with you. Angela also comes from a biracial and multicultural family and is passionate about providing culturally inclusive care.

Angela also provides nutrition counseling and has worked with individuals who have struggled with disordered eating, gut health issues, metabolic dysfunction, hormone and thyroid imbalances, and women's health, or those looking to improve their mental health through nutrition. Angela's approach is collaborative, providing you with the skills to nourish your body. She takes a weight-neutral approach, focusing on behaviors and knowledge and skills.
