My approach to therapy honors the innate strength and intuition of clients. Often, clients arrive at therapy feeling lost, out of control, or overwhelmed. I believe therapy can offer a space to connect with ourselves deeply and learn how to listen to our own self-leadership. I offer a warm and compassionate space that also challenges the natural incongruencies of human behavior. I have experience providing therapy to individuals, families, and couples from diverse backgrounds and orientations. I currently see individuals (16+), couples, and families. I do offer services to younger children with parental involvement in therapy.
My therapy practice balances the both-and integration of intergenerational work and present-focused change. As I work with clients, I utilize Bowen Family Systems and Contextual Therapy in tandem with results-oriented models such as Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. By paralleling emphasis in these two domains, clients are better able to connect to the forces that shaped them and their choices in the present. My couples therapy emphasizes the development of self-integrity and self-leadership within the relationship. This helps each member of a couple feel more grounded in their own personhood inside and outside the relationship-- and allows each person's strengths to shine. Additionally, I utilize Internal Family Systems techniques for working with trauma and ADHD symptom distress.
