Laura holds a Master of Science in Family Therapy from Friends University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Kansas State University. She is also trained in Sand Tray therapy.
Laura is a licensed marriage and family therapist and a clinical hypnotherapist. She works with individuals, couples, and families on their journeys toward emotional and relational wellness. She has experience treating a variety of clinical diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, and trauma, as well as experience helping clients navigate the various challenges that arise in their relationships with romantic partners, family members, friends, colleagues, and other significant individuals in their lives. She also enjoys working with individuals and couples who are dissatisfied with some element of their sexual relationship. Laura uses a collaborative approach to help clients explore how the complexities of their life experiences and social interactions have shaped their perspectives and affected their mental health. She prefers to work with clients ages 12+, but will also see younger clients with caregiver involvement in therapy. Laura strives to help her clients feel accepted, cared for, and understood while simultaneously guiding them toward personal growth, mental health, and relational well-being.
Laura also offers hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy uses a state of deep relaxation which allows the client to access their subconscious mind to better understand the core emotions that are the source of the issues they are currently experiencing. Hypnotherapy can be used to treat a wide variety of issues including anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, unwanted behaviors, addictions, grief, fears and phobias, and physical health issues.
